World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In some cases this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades on its own.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.
The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will roll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large number of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.
You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example the splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. item upgrades can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important such as a trinket. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrade s , trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by a player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer useful, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other gear items that they will not be replacing soon (for example, a ring or cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players should also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying a new one.
